Digital Realty Expands Amid Dutch Data Center Market Growth

Digital Realty has marked the next phase in its European expansion with the launch of its 12th data center in the Netherlands. The move comes as the Dutch data center market experiences rapid growth, driven by increasing demand for AI-ready infrastructure and sustainable solutions.

Announced earlier this month, AMS11 will add approximately 27 MW of IT capacity across 12,000 sq.m, increasing Digital Realty’s total capacity in the country to around 159 MW.

The facility, located near Schiphol International Airport in Amsterdam, is designed to support high-density and AI workloads, incorporating advanced cooling technologies and operating on 100% renewable energy.

Dutch Data Center Market Growth

The launch of Digital Realty’s AMS11 data center in the Netherlands highlights the growing importance of the Dutch data center market, which has solidified its position as a key hub for digital infrastructure in Europe.

According to a Mordor Intelligence report, the Dutch data center market is set to reach $17.9 billion in 2030, up from $11.3 billion in 2025.

“In terms of IT load capacity, the market is expected to grow from 1.1 GW in 2025 to 2.4 GW by 2030, at a CAGR of 4.92% during the forecast period (2025-2030),” the report said.
